Zondag 10 oktober 2010 is de dag dat de Nederlandse Antillen ophouden met bestaan. Een nieuwe vlag werd gehesen in Willemstad (Curaçao). En in Sint Maarten werd een officiële ceremonie gehouden ter ere van hun onafhankelijkheid. Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Sabe zijn nu bijzondere gemeenten geworden van Nederland. De plechtigheden werden bijgewoond door Willem-Alexander en prinses Máxima, staatssecretaris Ank Bijlevend, minister van Defensie Eimert van Middelkoop en de premiers van de Antillen en Aruba. Door deze ontmanteling van de Nederlandse Antillen ontstaan dus een aantal nieuwe landen met meer vrijheid. De premiers van deze landen kunnen nu geheel zelfstandig beslissingen uitvoeren. Oktober en november zijn de ideale maanden om hazelnoten en walnoten te verzamelen. U kunt ze rapen onder de walnotenbomen of de hazelnoot struiken. Noten zijn trouwens mega-gezond voor ons lichaam.
