Most dramatic football matches in history with lots of casualties and deaths

Matches/Incidents resulting in Mass Casualties (primarily due to crowd management failures, but often exacerbated by existing tensions).   1. Estadio Nacional Disaster (Lima, Peru, 1964) This is the deadliest disaster in football history. During an Olympic qualifier between Peru and Argentina, a disallowed goal sparked riots. Police used tear gas, leading to a stampede as fans tried to escape through locked exits. Over 320 people died. 2. Accra Sports Stadium Disaster (Ghana, 2001) Following a match between two of Ghana's biggest rivals, Accra Hearts and Asante Kotoko, angry fans threw chairs. Police fired tear gas, causing a stampede that killed 126 people. 3. Hillsborough Disaster (Sheffield, England, 1989) A semi-final match between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest. Due to severe overcrowding and police mismanagement, 97 Liverpool fans were crushed to death in a standing-only section. 4.
