Fossiel van een vis Dit fossiel is afkomstig uit de kalkrotsen aan de kust van Cap Blanc Nez in Frankrijk. Daar worden vele fossielen en afdrukken van fossielen teruggevonden langs het strand of op de witte rotsen die uitsteken boven de zee. De meeste fossielen die men er aan treft zijn ammonieten. Op de foto zie je klein versteent visje die half gekristalliseerd werd tijdens het vormen van deze enorme kalkrotsen. De kalkrotsen werden miljoenen jaren geleden gevormd nog voor de dinosauriërs leefden want ammonieten en vissen waren de eerst levende wezens in de zee.
