Quantum Dots (BT.2020)

Our current televisions have only limited representation of all the colors that exist. This means that we never see the true colors of the actual set on our television screens. The current color palette which is now supported by our television and Blu-ray has become the BT.709 standard.

Now there is a larger color palette that corresponds much better with the visible colors in nature, named the BT.2020 standard. However, it is still a waiting for TVs and source material that support this standard.

How does it work?
A television screen uses three basic colors: green, red and blue. In an LED LCD TV these basic colors are produced by white LED's that give light that are filtered with a color filter. This filter is not sharp enough to bring the pure basic colors forward, we can't see the full basic color. So there is a shortage of contrast to reflect the actual colors. Quantum Dots do offer a solution. Quantum dots are nanoscopic crystals that can transform the light color to another color. Instead of white LED's they use LED's that produce highly pure blue light. Through this way there can be found very pure green and red light. By this technology these basic colors can appear much brighter and more saturated. Thus, it becomes possible to realize a much broader color palette. For example, the BT.2020 can be approached. An added benefit would be that this technology uses less energy because the color has to work less as there has to be produced a blue color because the blue remains instead of switching from and to another color.

Sony X1 UHD TV

Sony will release a number of new Ultra HD TV's in 2015, including the X1.

Graphics card: An "on board" graphics card that is already integrated on the motherboard is good enough. Do you regularly play video games then you're best off with a graphics card from ATI or Nvidea, 2GB GPU would be more than enough.

Hard Drive: 256 GB SSD Drive. These are the new hard drives of tomorrow. They are less vulnerable because they have no moving elements more, weigh less, make less noise, consume less energy, should not be defragmented and above all they are super fast compared to a traditional hard drive of 5400 rpm or 7200 rpm. Most people that has not much documents and programs has enough space with 256GB Who has many documents should optain for a capacity of 512 GB.

CPU: Intel i7 processor, ideal to perform multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising on power.

RAM: 8 GB to 16 GB DDR3. This should be more than sufficient to make work all your programs without any delay.

Graphics card: An ATI or Nvidea card is an absolute must, 4 to 8 GB GPU is recommended.

Hard disk: As before, it is advisable to place an SSD Drive from 256 to 512 GB, because an old hard disk that has rotating elements, is often the delaying factor on many computers and laptops.

11" to 14" wide screen: Smaller screens make the laptop more mobile and less heavy.

Operating system: Google Chromium OS, Windows 8.1 (32 bit or 64 bit) home edition, Mac OS X. A 64-bit version will not be needed because it's only overkill. A cheaper alternative to the operating system compared to Windows or Mac OS is the Chromium OS from Google. You can compare this OS with the Android operating system from a smart phone or tablet. You need Internet access all the time because you mainly work with the browser and the available Apps. Many other programs such as Office, can not be install and everything will be saved to a cloud service.


Conclusion

These are our guidelines in relation to the configuration of a laptop for the year 2015. Vindt u ook het bos door de bomen niet meer als je al die soorten laptops wilt vergelijken op tal van websites. Dan kunnen wij u misschien een handje helpen bij het bepalen van wat ju nu echt nodig hebt om in deze tijden een laptop te kiezen op jou maat.

We gaan eerst één ideale laptop samenstellen die het best past bij de doorsnee thuis gebruiker. Daarna volgen de configuraties voor wie iets professioneler uit de hoek wil komen of net wat minder wil en waar vooral het budget belangrijk is.


Doorsnee laptop configuratie

Profiel: voor de mondiale thuis gebruiker die toch wat taken op een gemakkelijke wijze wil uitvoeren zoals, naar muziek luisteren, office programma's gebruiken en een computerspel wil spelen en liefst allemaal tegelijkertijd.

Kostprijs: tussen de 500 en de 1000 euro.

CPU: Intel i5 processor, ideaal om meerdere taken tegelijk uit te voeren zonder aan rekenkracht te verliezen.

RAM-geheugen: 6 GB, DDR3. Dit moet ruimschoots voldoende zijn om al uw programma's zonder enige vertraging te laten werken.

Grafische kaart: Dit kan best een 'on board' grafische kaart zijn die al op het moederbord is geïntegreerd. Speel je vaak een game dan dien je best een grafische kaart te installeren van ATI of Nvidea, 2 GB GPU zou dan zeker voldoende moeten zijn.

Harde schijf: 256 GB SSD-Drive. Dit zijn de nieuwe harde schijven van morgen. Harde schijf: 64 GB of 128 GB SSD-Drive of een gewone harde schijf van 5400 rpm met een capaciteit van 500 GB.

Conclusie
Dit zijn onze richtlijnen in zake de configuratie van een laptop voor het jaar 2015. Natuurlijk zijn er nog andere configuraties mogelijk en laat u zich het best bijstaand door de professional in de winkel om zo uw ideale laptop te vinden. Hopelijk ziet u nu al wat meer het bos door de bomen.

PC uitbreiden met een online RAM en processor dienst

Stel u voor dat je via een website online het RAM-geheugen en de CPU capaciteit van uw PC kunt uitbreiden, om zo met een super snelle PC te kunnen werken zonder dat je hiervoor extra hardware dient aan te kopen.

De oplossing
De oplossing is nog niet in uitvoering maar het zou kunnen werken op het principe van Cloud Computing, een online dienst zeg maar.

Eerst dient een programma geïnstalleerd te worden op de bewuste PC waarop je de zware taken op wil uitvoeren. Na de installatie werkt er een programma op de achtergrond die zware taken doorstuurt naar een online platform die op zijn beurt alle taken verwerkt met mega computers of servers die massaal veel RAM-geheugen en CPU kracht bezitten. Na het bewerken en het berekenen keren de resultaten terug naar uw PC. Zo zouden lange ingewikkelde processen uitgerekend kunnen worden in een mum van tijd zonder dat uw computer wordt over belast en zo zou u zo weinig mogelijk moeten inboeten op de snelheid van uw PC.

Wat zou het kosten?
Je betaald wat je hebt verbruikt dit per aantal verbruikte eenheden RAM en CPU vermenigvuldigd met de tijd die nodig is om de bewerkingen te voltooien. Zo hoeft u uw pc of laptop niet up te graden en heb je altijd een super snelle computer bij de hand.

Wat heb je nodig?
Het enige wat je nodig hebt is een snelle internet verbinding en een snel internet abonnement. Het liefst wordt uw computer met een 1000 Mbit netwerk kabel geconnecteerd met het internet. Op deze manier bekom je een zo snel mogelijke upload en download van de te verwerken data.

How to achieve efficiency?

We live in a society where everything evolves faster and faster and it needs to be easier to.

It's human nature that we want to get faster and better tools then we already have, we have always want to be better, faster and more efficient. On the work floor we speak of operation efficiency. There are even people who only work on ways to improve their business efficiency. They use mind-maps, charts and other methods to analyze what can be improved. Seeing or doing things different can also lead to efficiency. The opposite is also possible, less efficiency than before has to be detected as soon as possible and the cause of that has to be corrected as soon as possible to counteract deterioration.

Efficiency is often associated with easy. And this is true, but that is only correct for the final solution and the implementation of the tasks themselves.

Before you can achieve efficiency, you mostly need to solve a problem. And in order to solve that problem you need clever and creative persons who need that little dare combined with a problem solving brain.

We clarify efficiency here on the basis of an example.
The problem: Solving complex calculations in a simple way.
The solution: The program Excel, the tool of choice to solve difficult calculations. Enter some numbers in the cells, write a formula in another cell and you have your solution in no time.

Most people don't realize it but before you even could dream of this solution there was a very long and complicated process preceded before this solution has been reached. A computer program as "excel" needed to be invented. Without such a program, we were forced to use slower systems such as a calculator or our own brains, with many formulas had to be written out.

But such a program would never come there when nobody would have invented the computer. And the computer would not have been there if the transistors, and many chips aren't invented at first if we didn't made the radio first. So we can go on this way, until we arrive at the invention of the wheel. Everything depends on one another. One can not exist without the other. But the other must first be invented, so we can invent another. And therefore we need creative humans with a clever mind to make inventions.

Evolution
In the evolution of the wheel to where we are now, there is a constant that I just want to enter: Time, and speed. The first inventions took thousands of years to evolve, but according to the more inventions existing the faster new things could be invented. This means that we live in a constant acceleration, where everything evolves faster and faster. On this day, a single person can not keep up as we could do in prehistoric times. But everything of course began in the prehistoric times, when some creative types invented the first wheel, the first spear, the first huts, the first animal husbandry and many more. By increase efficiency you can not only do more but you and everything around you can improve so things get better or work faster than before.

Conclusion
The preparatory work of an efficient system is often very complicated. We need thous clever inventors with their creative, problem-solving spirits who need just that little bit courage to go further. Do you know the ones who invented something by putting their teeth into a project and never let that go for the rest of his life? Those are the people who change the world, and improve efficiency and making everything easier, so we can achieve more on an easier and more efficient way.

Replace similar files in different folders by a different file

For a new project, I encountered a problem where I have one file (items.txt) which occurs in a thousand different folders (including subfolders) that I have to replace with another file (items.jpg). I want to replace all these old items.txt files with a new 'parent' file items.jpg through a simple program. But that's my problem, I don't find such a program. Does someone know such a program?

I thought to have another solution for this problem, but it wasn't. My solution was this: Suppose I search for any files called "items.txt" with the Windows Explorer and then remove it than I needed a program that can fill up all the empty folders and sub-folders with the file 'items.jpg'. But I also did not found such a program.
