Let us explain some things. 'Spartacus: Gods of the Arena' goes about what happened before 'Spartacus: Blood and Sand'. It tells the story of the rise of the house of Batiatus before Spartacus arrived. It only counts 6 episodes. This was a temporary solution when Andy Whitfield (who plays Spartacus) has been forced to quit the shooting of the second season for a treatment of cancer. The third season 'More Blood, Romance And...' is a sequel to the first season 'Blood and Sand'.
